About Philip Rogers

Acadia Photography Workshops will awaken your creative spirit.  I am not a visiting photographer. I am a lifelong Maine resident, and have spent many years living and photographing here on Mount Desert Island. Your experience will be that of the people who call this home.

My work has won national and regional awards and is collected by museums and individuals worldwide. I have taught photography and photographic history at both high school and college levels and led many adult and child workshops and intensives. I have participated in numerous solo, juried and group gallery and museum shows.

Traveling the world, photographing the people and landscapes, many places have been awe inspiring with fantastic resulting images. What always amazes me on returning home is how this island holds such powerful photographic energy and variety. It remains unique and magical, majestic and fragile. Each day brings different plays of light and new locations to explore or fresh insight into the familiar. After nearly 40 years, I am still creatively inspired every day.

Acadia Photography Workshop will also include an additional photographer/computer technical advisor who will be working with us throughout our days together.
